The divination method “The Dragon’s Tracks” is a technique to use with The World Dragon Oracle. I will be presenting the Dragon’s Tracks in three posts. The first, (this one), includes the introduction and methodology. The second post will present each Threshold of the Dragon’s Tracks. The third post will be an example reading.
Greeting & Thanking the Dragons
The following is to help you establish a link between yourself and the dragon spirits. Place the oracle cards on a flat surface. Light a candle, and/or burn some incense, if you are so inclined. Stand or sit and say:
Oh ancient and mighty dragons,
Keepers of wisdom,
Masters of riddles,
Initiators of ascension.
I, [speak your name], call to you.
I ask for your
Love, power, and protection
To reveal the way
Guide me as I follow
In the dragons’ tracks
If you wish, spend some in silence with the dragons. When you are ready, give thanks to the dragons, extinguish the candle’s flame, and replace the cards in the pack.
The Dragon’s Coils
One of these cards will be drawn first to see if the reading pertains to the seeker’s spiritual world journey, (inner coils), physical world journey, (outer coils), or the convergence of the seeker’s being, where the inner and outer coils cross.
Thresholds of the Dragon Tracks
Each of these thresholds carries a message which is part of your oracle. The thresholds are:
DRAGON MAW: BEGINNINGS
DRAGON KIN: FELLOWSHIP
DRAGON SHIP: MOVEMENT
DRAGON LAIR: REWARD
DRAGON EYE: INNER VISION
DRAGON HJEM: PROTECTION
DRAGON WOUND: VULNERABILITY & SACRIFICE
DRAGON SHADOW: NEMESIS
THE WESTERN GATE: RESOLUTION
DRAGON’S ENDIR: JOURNEY’S END
