Ahoy, my hearties! Bootstrap Ginny has heard a rumor that a new pyrate movie has been released and…it might just be worth a watch!
The movie is titled The Bluff and stars Karl Urban and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Those two are enough to get this ole pyrate interested, and when you toss in that the Russo Brothers are co-producers, I’m just about ready for grog and popcorn.
Urban’s pyrate captain is described as “…a bad boy who lacks any kind of compassion.” Clearly, this is not a Disney movie with cute pyrate dogs and a stumbling but loveable Jack Sparrow. This is perfectly fine by me, by the way, as I prefer the grit of Black Sails over anything cute. In fact, nothing about pyrates is cute. Well, maybe their cats or dogs could be cute, but nothing else.
The Bluff is hailed as having terrific action scenes with R rated blood and body parts strewn across the screen. The film won’t change my life, I’m told, but I will be entertained.
Well, don’t threaten this pyrate with a good time! Bootstrap Ginny and crew will be watching The Bluff and writing our own review…stay tuned!
